Privacy policy

In short
Your data lives on your phone.
- No account, no profile, no cloud database. Scans, check-ins, and your capybara are stored only on this device.
- When you scan, the photo (or your description) is sent securely to generate a verdict, then processed by our AI provider under strict no-training terms. Pea never stores your photos on any server.
- Scan requests carry a random device identifier used only to prevent abuse. It is not linked to your identity and cannot identify you.
- Usage analytics contain no personal information and no health data, just anonymous counts.
- To measure our own ads, a small amount of technical data (never anything you track) is shared with our measurement partners, AppsFlyer and Meta. See Ad measurement below.
- Deleting the app removes all on-device data. Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID and are not cancelled by deleting the app.
Meal scans
- Your photo, text, or barcode is transmitted securely, used once to produce a verdict, and not retained on our servers.
- Our AI provider processes scan content under terms that prohibit using it to train models.
- Scans are never an analytics input.
Usage analytics
- Pea sends anonymous usage events: which screens are reached, purchases, and app opens. Never what you logged.
- Never collected: meals, photos, health data, symptoms, check-ins, or anything you track.
- Processing: TelemetryDeck, an EU-hosted, anonymised analytics service. TelemetryDeck runs no ads, sells no data, and does no tracking across apps or websites.
- You can turn analytics off any time in Settings, under Developer.
Purchases
- Payments are handled by Apple. Pea never sees your payment details.
- To unlock features and manage your subscription status, Pea uses RevenueCat, which receives your purchase history and a random, anonymous identifier. No name, no email, nothing that identifies you personally.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions any time in your App Store account settings.
Ad measurement
We run ads to help people find Pea. To know whether those ads actually work, we work with two measurement partners: AppsFlyer, which attributes app installs to the ad that led to them, and Meta (Facebook's parent company), which receives subscription events through RevenueCat, our subscription provider. What they receive:
- An anonymous device identifier, your device's vendor identifier, and IP address.
- App install and subscription events, such as the app opening for the first time, a trial starting, or a subscription renewing.
- That is the full list. We never share what you scan, what you eat, your cycle data, your symptoms, or anything you track in Pea.
- We don't send your email address or phone number to any of these partners.
- After you finish setting up, iOS asks once whether Pea may track. Saying no changes nothing about how Pea works; install measurement then relies on Apple's SKAdNetwork, which reports only aggregated, anonymised campaign data.
- This data is used to measure our own advertising — not to build a profile of you or to target you with ads based on what you do in Pea.
Apple Health
- Apple Health is optional and off until you connect it in Settings.
- When connected, Pea reads only your sleep and menstrual flow, and writes only completed Moments as Mindful Minutes.
- Health data stays on your device: never transmitted, never in analytics, never on any server.
- Weight is never read from or written to Apple Health, and Pea never imports the scale. If you turn on the optional calorie view, any weight you type stays on your phone.
- Disconnect any time in Settings; the permission itself is managed in the Health app.
Your controls
- Analytics off: Settings → Developer.
- Apple Health: connect or disconnect in Settings, or manage the permission in the Health app.
- Delete the app to remove all on-device data.
